About the A-List - Each year WISN 12 holds a contest to discover the best local businesses on http://wisn.cityvoter.com/the-washington-county-humane-society/biz/107562. Visitors can return daily to vote for WCHS, leave posts, and read comments and get exclusive deals from A-List companies.
How Voting Works - The contest runs Monday, November 25th - Sunday, December 15th, during those times you can vote for WCHS. You can return daily and cast your vote. This competition is unique in that actual voters determine the winners.
What does WCHS receive – more media/public awareness. If we win - we would receive a party in our honor and have unique photo and video opportunities that will increase our public presence.
After you attend our Festival of Trees why not head over to the Town of Jackson and check out Cedarburg Lights. They are introducing many new decorations to their display. Last year, they introduced a new 20-foot Mega Tree and a second 26-foot snowman. This year they plan to introduce more new decorations including Mr. & Mrs. Claus. While having such a gorgeous display of lights is giving back so much to a community; these folks take it a step further and also collect donations for WCHS.
Please check out their website and make sure to visit ... it is an incredible way to show your appreciation to them and by making a donation you can show your support of WCHS.
The display is located in the town of Jackson, Wisconsin at 4083 Highview Drive which is located one mile North of Hwy 60 or one mile West of Granville Road (Highway Y) or one mile South of Pleasant Valley Road
The services we provide at WCHS are vital to the community and with the commitment of both staff and volunteers we can help more animals throughout Washington County each year; Our volunteers compliment our staff each day and it is wonderful to have volunteers who understand our mission and join in.
Check out our volunteer opportunities by clicking on our "Volunteer" tab.
Greet people as they arrive at the shelter and take them around to see our adoptable animals. Work with customers to match animals with suitable homes. Volunteers commit to one day per week. Hours are Monday 1pm - 7pm, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 1pm - 5pm, or Wednesday 5pm - 8pm.
When an animal arrives at the WCHS that is not quite ready for adoption, we rely heavily on our foster care volunteers. This special group of individuals opens not only their hearts, but also their homes, providing animals with the care and attention they need. Our ability to place animals in foster care is essential to our goal of providing a second chance to as many companion animals as possible.
