Pregnancy

Should a female cat present to the
surgery clinic pregnant,
she will be spayed.
We do not have access to ultrasound equipment or x-rays to confirm
a pregnancy, therefore, we will continue with the scheduled
surgery as planned.
Palpation of the abdomen is not 100% accurate. A suspected
pregnancy may not be a pregnancy at all. There is always a
possibility that the cat has a belly full of worms, is suffering
from a uterine infection, or just has a full bladder.
If you suspect that your cat may be pregnant, and you are not
comfortable having her altered, you must call us ahead of time.
You can then be removed from the surgery clinic and transferred to
another clinic day. |
