Hello, We thought you would enjoy an update on our "little" guy, Bart.
We can't seem to figure out how he ended up at WCHS -- twice! He is so sweet and loving, although he can be a bulldozer at times! He and his sister Allison are a match made in heaven. They love to run around in the back yard and play in the snow. Bart likes to curl up in front of the fireplace and also serves as a warm, comfy pillow to the family. He also LOVES to go for car rides! We have worked with him on his walking and his barking, and he is doing really well! I also found out that he knew how to shake hands/give high five! He just loves to please!
Thank you to everyone who worked with us in the days before his adoption! It really means a lot that you care about your animals so much, that you make sure the homes they go to are good ones!

Hi guys – I was so pleased to see your new page about Pit Bulls. We have enjoyed our pit/lab mix, Dora, for almost 2 years now. She is sweet, kind, and great with kids.  We sometime get odd questions from people because we have a pit/lab and a boxer. Since boxers are often misinterpreted too, our dogs have allowed us to help educate people about both breeds!

Great job, thanks from all of us!

We adopted both Patches (Nov of 2006) and Roxey (Dec of 2006) from your shelter and they are both the joy of our lives, people just don’t realize what they are missing out with the breed. Due to the fact of letting fear and news hype rule their decisions.  I use to be one of those people and all it took was me opening up my mind and heart to a little 42lb sweet heart of a dog (purebred Pitt) 5 years ago for me to completely change my mind about the breed.   And just a side note both Roxey and Patches are fantastic and I thank you so much for the opportunity for us to adopt them.  I hope homes come up for both Simba and Bart (update:Bart was adopted 9/28/07). I have to refrain cause I fell in love with Bart from your site. I keep telling myself 2 is enough LOL, but it hurts me to see these awesome dogs not given a chance due to society’s view point of them.

I was once one of those people who let the media distort my view of pit bulls. I became involved with the shelter about five years ago. The wonderful dogs there made me realize I had it all wrong. It broke my heart to see so many good dogs being passed up just because of their breed. My husband and I are now the proud owners of our own beautiful pit bull, Zoe. She is great with kids, dogs and even our parrot. We hope with her sweet personality she can open other peoples eyes to what sweet dogs pit bulls are. We love her dearly and couldn't imagine our life with out her.

Hello!

We adopted Cal from the WCHS in November 2004. He is a pit bull and his sister Lilly was also adopted by another couple from WCHS.

Since adopting Cal my husband and I have grown fond of pit bulls and donating/helping any foundation we can. Cal is a loveable and sweet dog we do not know what we would do with out with him.

I've been meaning to send an email, but with everything going on after the Michael Vic case I am trying to make people more aware of it's all how you raise them and a pit bull is just like ANY other dog.

Thank you,
Courtney and Andy K.
